(SEYMOUR) - A La Porte teen was killed in an accident on Interstate 65, north of the Seymour exit, at 12:35 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.
Craig M. Milcarek, 19, of La Porte, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was a front-seat passenger in a car driven by Cory D. Allison, 21, of La Porte which was traveling southbound on I-65 at about the 51.5 mile marker when Allison lost control, the car rotated sideways and then struck a guardrail in the median, according to the Indiana State Police. The car came to a stop with its passenger side against the guardrail after snapping off five of the guardrail posts.
Allison and a back seat passenger, Brandon W. Lehman, 19, of La Porte, both suffered severe head and chest injuries. Allison and Lehman were transported to area hospitals.
The crash is under investigation.
Seymour Police Department, Seymour Fire Department, Jackson County EMS and the Jackson County Coroner's Office assisted the state police at the scene.
