(LOUISVILLE) - A woman is lucky to be alive after crashing her car on Interstate 64 in Louisville Friday morning. It happened around 3:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane of I-64 near the Story Avenue exit.
Police say the woman apparently lost control of her car and hit a guardrail.
The metal guardrail ended up slicing through her windshield, protruding into her car. Officers say the guardrail missed hitting the woman's head by inches.
Metro Police say wet roads and rainy conditions were factors in the crash. The woman was taken to University Hospital.
