(UNDATED) - Two prominent national education experts suggest that Indiana and the nation need to take a broader approach to education and career readiness.
Harvard Graduate School of Education's Bill Symonds and Brian Bosworth of Future Works say Indiana isn't putting enough emphasis on technical and vocational education.
They addressed a meeting of the Indiana education roundtable Tuesday. Both say the entire U.S. educational system has been overstressing academic education to the detriment of vocational education and real-life work experience.
They say early work experience is often the pathway to more successful, passion-filled careers.
