(SEYMOUR) - Seymour Police Department is working with the FBI in a federal review of a Nov. 21 incident that left a man with a severely injured eye.
"We have turned our records over to the Bloomington office of the FBI (on Thursday)," Police Chief Bill Abbott said. "Those records will be reviewed by the FBI and sent on to the Department of Justice in Washington."
Contacted for reaction Thursday afternoon, Edmonds referred questions to his attorneys, Brad Johnson of Seymour and Mark Dove of North Vernon.
"They've asked me not to make any comment," Edmonds said.
Abbott said he was preparing a package of investigative materials so he could make a call requesting an outside investigation by the Indiana State Police when he received the FBI's request.
"We are cooperating fully with any federal investigation," Abbott said. "They wanted to know what we had completed so far and asked that we forward copies to them. We have. Everything has been turned over."
