(UNDATED) - Indiana will offer a free online tax filing service to eligible Hoosiers beginning in mid-January.
Indiana Freefile brings free professional tax services from H&R Block, Turbotax, OLT and Taxhawk.
Indiana Department of Revenue Commissioner John Eckart says, generally, Hoosier taxpayers with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of less than $57,000 will find an available service.
Eckart says to go to the Department of Revenue's website or the IRS website and click on the Freefile icon to find eligibility requirements.
The new service replaces i-File, the Indiana Department of Revenue sponsored service first offered in 1999. Eckart says the new service will save the state $100,000 to $200,000.
