(BURNETTSVILLE) - Authorities say a northern Indiana man has been fatally mauled by his pet pit bull in his rural home.
Indiana State Police say a family member found 58-year-old Joseph Hines dead at his home outside the White County town of Burnettsville on Monday night. Burnettsville is about 70 miles north of Indianapolis.
An autopsy Wednesday morning determined the pit bull killed Hines, who was home alone at the time.
The White County Animal Warden has taken custody of the pit bull, and what will happen to the dog hasn't been determined yet.
