(STATEHOUSE) - A call from statehouse Democrats for the state budget committee to authorize an independent audit of misplaced taxpayer money went unanswered.
Last week, Governor Daniels announced an auditor found over $300 million in corporate income taxes that had been collected but not counted for over 5 years.
Democrats says the independent audit is needed to restore public trust. Republicans dismissed the claim.
