(PETERSBURG) - The investigation into a fire in Pike County where a woman perished Friday morning continues.
Investigators are calling the fire suspicious.
It broke out early Friday morning at a rural home southwest of Petersburg.
Firefighters found the woman unconscious inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are waiting for results for an autopsy which they hope will positively identify her and the cause of death.
It was later learned that 36-year old Andrew Satterfield who lives in the house that burned, drove himself to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment of what are being called serious burns.
Satterfield was later transported to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis because of the seriousness of his injuries.
Indiana State Police suspect foul play in connection with both the fire and the woman's death.
