(INDIANAPOLIS) - Millions of people will be trying to get those last minute packages shipped off before Christmas Eve.
But at this late date, will they get there in time?
It looks like the procrastinators and those with unexpected last minute shipping needs are in real good company.Inside the UPS sorting facility on West 16th Street in Indianapolis shows the evidence of one of the busiest shipping days of the year. On Thursday UPS shipped 26-million packages!
That equates to almost 300-packages a second.
The big question is will the packages arrive before Christmas Eve? The good news is yes, with UPS Next day Air Delivery.
Here's what you need to know: if you can get your packages to UPS today, you can use the next day air service to ensure your goodies arrive by Christmas Eve. There is a $15 dollar Saturday surcharge for each package. You can also check UPS Ground Service to calculate shipping times.
So how does all of this get done? UPS Airlines added more than 400 additional flights per day to get these packages to their holiday destinations.
