(COLUMBUS) - A teenager involved in the robbery of a man in downtown Columbus received a 7½-year suspended prison sentence Monday after a judge said he believes the teen is ready to make positive changes in his life.
Brandon E. Brown, 16, will serve the time in community-based correctional programs, including home detention, electronic monitoring or work release, and on probation.
He pleaded guilty in October to an adult charge of robbery resulting in bodily injury for a July incident in which he and another teen got into a confrontation with a man over two baseball caps that resulted in the man's being shot in the face with a BB gun.
