(VINCENNES)(AP) - The father of a 4-year-old boy who died after a police cruiser collided with a van during a police pursuit is suing a southwestern Indiana sheriff’s department and several other parties over the child’s death.
The Vincennes Sun-Commercial reports Stuart Walls' suit seeks unspecified damages in the death of the Bruceville man's son.
Jordan Walls died in September after a Knox County sheriff's deputy's cruiser collided with a van in which the boy was riding.
The suit also names the county commissioners, the county sheriff and Deputy John Fuller.
Police investigators say Fuller was trying to stop a motorist when his patrol car entered an intersection without stopping and slammed into a van the boy was riding in. The child was later pronounced dead from a head injury.
