(UNDATED) - Nearly 90,000 Mini Coopers are being recalled because of a possible fire hazard.
The recall includes certain 2006 through 2011 model vehicles, including some Mini Cooper Clubman vehicles and Mini Cooper convertibles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website blames a faulty circuit board in a water pump for the recall. It says the device can malfunction and overheat and cause a fire.
The NHTSA says the vehicle maker, BMW, will let owners know which cars are affected. Dealers should replace the water pump for free. The recall is expected to start next month.
