(NASHVILLE) - The roof of Nashville Elementary School was partially damaged early Monday morning following strong winds and severe storms in the area.
David Shaffer, the superintendent of Nashville Schools, said the roof was lifted by the winds. Shaffer described the roof to be flat and has a rubber membrane.
Students were moved from four different classrooms as crews are working to clear the water. The classrooms sustained minor damage.
Shaffer said a roofing contractor would come to the school Monday to fix the damage. The superintendent said he hopes the roof will be fixed by Tuesday morning.
