(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus Police Department cruiser was shot several times with a shotgun Friday morning outside of Pence Place Apartments.
The car was parked at the officer's home and was unoccupied at the time of the shooting.
Police detained a man at the scene because of irrational behavior and the man told police he had left a shotgun on the ground. Police did not find the weapon.
The department is looking at surveillance video to try to identify the person firing the weapon. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department.
