(DENTON, TX )(KLTV) - Country singer Randy Travis was arrested Monday morning in Denton County.
According to ABC News, the 52-year-old country crooner was arrested for public intoxication. He reportedly had an open bottle of wine with him outside a Sanger, Texas church when police apprehended him at around 1:30 am.
According to Sanger Police, someone reported a suspicious vehicle near the church and when officers arrived on the scene they discovered the "Forever and Ever, Amen" singer.
Sanger is located north of Dallas and is close to a small town where Travis owns a ranch.
The six time Grammy winner was booked into the Denton County Jail and released later in the morning.
Some reports say that Travis was in an argument with his girlfriend before the arrest.
