(GREENWOOD) (WISH) - Police in Greenwood arrested a man after they say he confessed to having child pornography after serving time for a prior child solicitation conviction.
Michael W. Caplinger, 35, was arrested Tuesday after an investigation and an interview, during which he told police he "can't stop himself" from downloading child porn and had about 29 gigabytes on his computer, court documents say.
"I did it," Caplinger told police after being taken into custody, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Investigators searching his computer found numerous videos of child porn, including some with children who were toddlers or younger.
The illegal videos were discovered at Caplinger's home, in the 3100 block of Stones Crossing. Investigators began looking into Caplinger's activity on Dec. 1, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Department helped in the probe.
Caplinger was being held on a $16,000 bond for a charge of child exploitation. Though, he's unlikely to be released because he violated the terms of his parole for his prior conviction of child solicitation in Ripley County, Greenwood Police Department officials said.
