(SOUTH BEND)(AP) - The University of Notre Dame is raising tuition 3.8 percent for undergraduates for 2012-13.
The 3.8 percent increase matches the percentage tuition went up for the two previous years, which the school says were the smallest increases at the school since 1960. The cost of tuition next year for undergraduates will be $42,971. With average room and board rates of $11,934, the average cost for an undergraduate to attend Notre Dame next school year will be $54,905.
The university's president, the Rev. John Jenkins, told parents in a letter the school remains concerned about the economy and has worked to increase operational efficiencies.
