(INDIANAPOLIS) - The number of deer killed by hunters in Indiana was down nearly 4 percent in 2011.
129,018 deer were bagged by hunters, which is still the fourth-best on record.
DNR fish and wildlife officials say the harvest was over 5,000 deer above the 10-year average. They also say 64 counties registered totals that were higher than their 10-year annual average.
