(VIGO COUNTY) - Indiana State Police busted a suspected mobile meth lab while conducting a DUI checkpoint Saturday in Vigo County.
Jeremy Gibson, 39, and Bruce Thomas, 36, both of Terre Haute, were stopped at the check point just west of the Wabash River near Schley Place, state troopers said.
Authorities said Gibson's green SUV had a defective license plate light, which prompted them to stop him.
When he got out of the SUV, police said they saw a plastic bag sticking out of his pocket that allegedly contained items commonly used to make meth.
After searching the SUV, troopers found a "ready to cook" meth lab in the back of the vehicle, but no finished product, police said.
Gibson and Thomas were arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail on preliminary felony charges of manufacturing meth and possession.
Officials said the pair was held on a $85,000 bond.
The checkpoint was a part of the Indiana's Operation Pull Over blitz which began on March 2 and ends on March 18, officials said.
