(UNDATED) - Planned Parenthood will offer free screenings for sexually transmitted diseases in April across the state.
19 Indiana centers will provide the free chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV testing as a part of the "Get Yourself Tested" campaign and National STD Awareness Month.
The participating locations include multiple sites in Indianapolis as well as Avon, Bloomington, Columbus, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Hammond, Lafayette, Madison, Merrillville, Mishawaka, Muncie, Richmond, Terre Haute, Valparaiso and Warsaw.
The free tests will be available through the first week of April as well as every Friday through the end of the month.
The Guttmacher Institute estimates there are about 19 million new cases of STDs each year across the US. Half of those are among 15- to 24-year-olds.
