(BAINBRIDGE)(RTV6) - A 44-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl have been arrested in connection with pictures Indiana State Police called obscene that were sent to three 15-year-old girls in Putnam County.
ISP Sgt. Joe Watts said Ellis Gray, 44, of Bainbridge, was arrested on Feb. 21 on charges of providing obscene matter and performances before minors, a class D felony.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested at North Putnam High School on Feb. 27 on charges of obstruction of justice, battery and juvenile delinquency.
Police said their investigation began when the Department of Child Services forwarded information to ISP concerning sexual misconduct allegations.
"Detectives were able to develop information that Ellis Gray allegedly provided sexual explicit material and pictures to three 15-year-old females from Putnam County," Watts said. "Once Gray was arrested, one of the three juvenile females allegedly battered one of the remaining two juvenile females during school hours at North Putnam High School."
The girl who was beaten suffered cuts and bruises, but she wasn't seriously injured.
Police said the mother of the girl who was arrested is Gray's fiancée.
"The two other juvenile females were friends of the family," Watts said.
Gray was released on bond. The 15-year-old girl was being held at a treatment center in Muncie.
