(TERRE HAUTE) - A new species is expected to add some excitement to this year’s fishing season in Terre Haute.
The Indiana DNR and the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department have teamed up to bring rainbow trout to Maple Lake in the new Maple Avenue Nature Park.
The addition was made after surveys of the fisheries showed that the area's water quality could support the species.
Anglers aiming for the trout will need a specific license in addition to the general state fishing license that will cost $11.
