(TERRE HAUTE) - Maintenance workers come across a gruesome scene, prompting a police death investigation.
Jon Swaner reports police received the call at 10 a.m. of a badly decomposed body at an apartment in Dreiser Square in Terre Haute.
City police say maintenance workers came to evict the man from the apartment when they discovered the man's body in a closet and called police.
We don't know who last saw this man alive and when.
It's also difficult to tell how long the man has been dead.
"One of the issues we have is the type of weather, the environment inside the closed apartment," said Dr. Roland Kohr. "But it's been conservatively several weeks."
"We obviously need to contact family members," said THPD Assistant Chief Shawn Keen. "We've interviewed a lot of people in the surrounding neighborhood, and we'll continue to talk to others throughout the night."
The man's name was not released.
