(WABASH) - Authorities in northern Indiana are seeking two inmates who escaped from the Wabash County Jail.
Police in Northern Indiana seek two escaped jail inmates
Wabash County Sheriff Bob Land tells WANE-TV the two men had been washing cars in the jail's garage area when they fled about 2 a.m. Saturday.
The men were identified as 28-year-old Aaron Scott Perry of Wabash and 48-year-old Chance Hanaway of Peru. Authorities say both men had been jailed on theft charges since late last year.
Land says both men are white, heavily tattooed and bald. They were wearing jail issued clothing at the time of their escape.
Inmates are typically supervised while on work detail, but Land says the men weren't being properly supervised when they escaped.
The Sheriff's Department urged anyone with information on the inmates' whereabouts to contact police.
