(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana’s wildlife agency is trying to track down the state’s weirdest trees to update an online listing.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources' Division of Forestry is gathering the data for its 2012 "Invasion of the Weird Trees."
Past entries have included trees that swallowed signs, those grown together like conjoined twins and a tree resembling a giant octopus.
The online publication that's updated every four years identifies each county's strangest trees based on submissions from the public. The deadline for submissions is April 30.
Trees can be of any species and size but must be living.
Submissions must include the submitter's contact information, the tree's location and a photograph. They can be sent by email or by mail.
The updated listing should be online this fall.
