Person Walking On US 31 Hit And Killed

(BARTHOLOMEW) - Bartholomew County Sheriff’s confirmed a fatal accident shut down the northbound lanes of US 31 late Saturday.

Police say a person was walking back to their stalled vehicle on US 31 near South Line Drive when they were hit by another car.

The person hit was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lanes were closed down for several hours while police investigated the scene.

The identity of the person hit will be released once next of kin is notified.
