(TERRE HAUTE) - Thousands of dollars worth of marijuana was found at the home of a Terre Haute business owner.
Brittany Earl of WTHITV reports, Tuesday afternoon Vigo County's Drug Task Forced found more than fifty pounds of marijuana inside the home of Raymond Thompson, owner of Terre Haute's Lil Pigs barbeque and sandwiches.
The drug task force confiscated with drugs from inside Thompson's home with the use of a warrant.
Detective Jason Parker with the Vigo County Drug Task Force says, "We ended up with over fifty pounds of marijuana, over $3,000 in cash and a firearm."
Detective Parker says the amount of pot taken from Thompson's home was obviously not for personal use.
"We have different kinds of marijuana at various stages. Some off of a brick, some others broken down from a brick, large garbage bags, small bags and also large zip lock bags, all at various stages for distribution, said Parker.
Parker says the amount that was confiscated adds up to $50,000 to $60,000 worth of pot.
Among the mix, Parker and his team found $10,000 worth of high grade marijuana, more commonly referred to as hydro.
Parker says scooping up that amount of drugs chalked up a win, win for his team.
"At some point its going to end up in the hands of children. Crimes are committed for narcotics, so anytime we can get this amount off the streets, I can defiantly say we put a dent in crime," said Parker.
Thompson was charged with two felony counts one for dealing marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
Thompson could face up to eight years in jail for dealing. Detective Parker says the investigation is on-going.
