(MUNCIE) - A woman trapped in a vehicle submerged in a pond near Muncie more than hour has died.
The Star Press reports the woman was pronounced dead several hours later. The name of the victim was being withheld until her family could be notified. Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn said that the woman did not have a pulse when she was pulled from the water.
Authorities were called to Fudd's Lake at 8:55 a.m. Monday and a dive team and rescue boat were brought in.
Authorities said one other person was in the vehicle and got out to safety. But the vehicle was on its top and stuck in mud, preventing rescue personnel from getting to the woman.
