(FORT WAYNE) - Congressman Mike Pence, Republican candidate for Indiana Governor, will announce his running mate at a campaign stop Monday morning.
Pence has a campaign rally scheduled for 10 a.m.
Several media outlets have reported a list of candidates Pence will choose from.
State Representative Sue Ellspermann , Indianapolis business owner Cathy Langham, and Marion Mayor Wayne Seybold are considered to be on the short list.
Ellspermann is a freshman representative in southern Indiana with a background in business and economics. Her bio page from the Indiana House Legislator says she is the founding director of the Center for Applied Research at the University of Southern Indiana. As the current representative for Indiana's 74th District, she serves as the Vice Chair for Employment, Labor, and Pensions Committee and is a member of the Small Business, Commerce and Economic Development Committee. She also serves on the Election and Appointment Committee.
Cathy Langham co-founded Langham Logistics in 1988. According to the company's website, Langham serves as the President and CEO of the Indianapolis company. She focuses on business strategies and industry issues. In 2005, she accepted an invitation from Gov. Daniels to serve on the Indiana Economic Development Corporation Board. She's previously served on the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and was the Vice Chairperson of the Super Bowl 2012 Local Organizing Committee.
Seybold has served as Marion's mayor since 2003. According to his website , Seybold was elected the first three-term mayor in Marion history in Nov. 2011. Seybold is a former U.S. Olympian, participating in the 1988 Olympics as a pairs figure skater with his sister, Kim. Seybold was first elected to Marion City Council in 1999. He is a past president of the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, Metropolitan Mayor's Association, and Indiana Mayor's Association. Seybold was on Pence's short list for lieutenant governor.
Pence is expected to make stops in Elkhart, Fort Wayne, Evansville, Indianapolis, and Merrillville to introduce his choice for lieutenant governor. The first stop is scheduled for 10 a.m., but it's location is being kept secret by the campaign.
Pence is running against Democrat John Gregg, who has said he will make his running mate choice by June 8. Pence and Gregg are also running against Libertarian Rupert Boneham who has selected Brad Klopfenstein has his Lieutenant Governor.
Gov. Mitch Daniels is barred by law from seeking a third term.
