(INDIANAPOLIS) - A downtown hot dog vendor’s license has been suspended after he was accused of selling marijuana from his cart.
Justin Fishburn, 35, was arrested April 6 at Pennsylvania and Ohio streets after police responded to reports that he was selling drugs with his hot dogs.
When officers searched his cart, they said they found two plastic bags of marijuana and four partially burnt hand-rolled marijuana cigarettes.
He appeared at a Department of Code Enforcement hearing Wednesday.
"It's something I'm going to court for. All I can say at this point is, I don't deal drugs, nor have I, nor will I," Fishburn said.
City Prosecutor Helen Marchal said she didn't believe Fishburn acted in the best interest of his customers.
"Is this the kind of person that we want selling food to the public? Does he really have the public's best interest in mind?" Marchal said.
Fishburn was preliminarily charged with possession of marijuana. An administrative judge will decide if his suspended license should become permanent.
