(DECATUR COUNTY) - For the second time this month, a teenager has drowned at a Decatur County campground.
Derik Gentry, 19, of Indianapolis, drowned Wednesday at Hidden Paradise Campground, located between Shelbyville and Greensburg in Decatur County.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said Gentry went to a lake at the campground about 5 p.m. Wednesday to swim with some friends.
He made it about 30 feet out into the water, then struggled. Friends could not get him back to shore.
A sheriff's deputy and others found him in 20 feet of water 30 minutes later. They were not able to revive him.
No foul play is suspected.
There were no lifeguards on duty at the lake.
14-year-old Dujuan Thompson, of Indianapolis, drowned at the same campground June 10.
