(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Edinburgh police officer and his wife are facing charges for reportedly attacking several officers at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 26th.
Ruthanne Gordon of WISH TV says officers were called to break up a loud disturbance between a husband and wife in the 21-hundred block of Georgetown Road.
The officer approached the couple and asked them to lower their voices.
That's when Christopher McAllister began yelling at the officer and slammed his beer bottle on the ground.
He then reportedly grabbed the officer and tried to physically restrain the officer.
Additional officers were called in, but they said Christopher McAllister continued to resist.
He chest bumped an officer and used his left elbow to strike the officer.
Police say McAllister's wife, Shawntel also resisted officers.
They say Shawntel attempted to get a piggy back ride from one of the responding officers and jumped on top of him.
She is also accused of trying to free her husband from the arresting officers.
Now both are facing charges.
Christopher McAllister is facing battery, resisting law enforcement and public intoxication.
