(GREENWOOD) - Greenwood Police arrested a man after a girl said he peeped on her while she was using a tanning bed.
The incident happened at Trotters Pointe apartments on Main Street in Greenwood. A 16-year-old girl said she was chatting with a guy in the apartment's fitness center while exercising and waiting for the tanning bed to be available, according to a police report.
When the tanning bed was available, the girl went in and locked the door. Moments later, she said she heard a click, looked and saw the man she'd been speaking with looking at her, the report said. The teen screamed, prompting the man to run away.
After getting dressed, the girl walked out and saw the man leaving. She marked down his license plate number.
As officers searched for the vehicle, the suspect waved down one of the officers. While speaking with police, the man admitted forcing his way into the tanning room and looking at the girl because he likes looking at women on the Internet and wanted to see one in person.
Video surveillance confirmed what the girl told police. Officers arrested Jeremy Shepherd, 21, on preliminary charges of voyeurism and probation violation.
Shepherd was on probation for indecent exposure.
