(INDIANAPOLIS) - A jury failed to return a unanimous verdict in the robbery and official misconduct trial of IMPD Officer David Butler. Butler was accused of robbing people he pulled over.
The jury came back shortly after 4:00 a.m. Friday morning.
According to the original probable cause affidavit, Officer Butler was accused of pulling over two Hispanic men.
Both times, it was alleged Butler told the drivers to step out of the car while he searched their vehicle.
After the search, the men said money totaling $2,700 dollars was taken from their wallet.
Butler will be retried on these counts. He will appear in court again Thursday, June 21, at 1:30 p.m.
