(NEW CASTLE) - A New Castle man faces federal charges after he took nude photographs of a 6-year-old boy with autism, police said.
Larry G. Young, 59, is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The boy's family contacted New Castle police in March after the child's mother found two graphic sexual pictures of her son on a cellphone left behind after Young watched her children, police said.
When interviewed by investigators, Young initially claimed he had taken the images to document the child's autistic behavior, according to the probable cause affidavit.
But he then recanted and admitted that he took the photos due to a sexual attraction to male children and was curious of what the photos would look like, according to the affidavit.
Police said they attempted to interview the 6-year-old, but he was unable to give a statement due to his autism.
The boy's 4-year-old sister told police that she had been molested by Young more than once, according to the affidavit. Young has not been charged in connection with those allegations.
Young is being held by the U.S. Marshal's Service in Marion County until his detention hearing on July 3.
