(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus woman was arrested after a man was hit with a rock during an argument he was having with his wife over doing the dishes, according to the Republic.
Woman arrested for throwing rock at man
Nicolle Olmstead, 29, was arrested Thursday night on a preliminary charge of battery causing bodily injury.
The man told police he was arguing with his wife in their backyard near Eighth and California streets when a woman he does not know and who lives next door came onto his property and started arguing with him.
The woman, later identified as Olmstead, pushed and hit the man before picking up a large rock in the alley outside the man's garage, said Sgt. Matt Harris, a spokesman for the Columbus Police Department.
Olmstead reportedly threw the rock at the man, leaving a large bruise and scrapes on his bicep.
She threw the rock again, hitting him a second time, leaving several scratches around his collarbone, Harris said.
Another neighbor called police, and Columbus Police Patrolman John Velten responded at 10:20 p.m. Thursday.
Olmstead told officers that the man threw the rock at her, but Harris said officers found no injuries or marks on her.
The man refused medical treatment.
Olmstead was booked into the Bartholomew County Jail on the preliminary charge.
