(MERRILLVILLE) - Police in Fargo, N.D., said a man and woman who went on the run after the man was accused of sexually assaulting the woman’s daughter have been arrested in Indiana.
The Forum reported that a warrant for 37-year-old Anthony Sells was issued in Cass County last week on a charge of gross sexual imposition of a victim less than 15 years old.
His girlfriend, the alleged victim's 34-year-old mother, was charged with hindering law enforcement. Court documents said that she told police the girl was recanting her story.
The newspaper did not identify the woman to protect her daughter's identity.
The U.S. Marshal's Service said deputy marshals and officers with the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the couple about 8 a.m. Tuesday at a hotel in Merrillville.
