(GREENCASTLE) - A Greencastle police officer fatally shot a man during a struggle early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened just after midnight in the 500 block of Sycamore Street, Indiana State Police said.
The officer had been called to the home on a report of a domestic disturbance involving Charles Aaron Brousard, 28, of Greencastle, and a woman.
"Upon the officer's approach to the male, the male purportedly charged at the officer, resulting in a physical confrontation," said ISP Sgt. Curt Durnil. "That physical confrontation resulted in the ... shooting."
When EMS personnel arrived, they said they found Greencastle police trying to save Brousard's life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
