(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metropolitan police busted what appeared to be a marijuana operation at a home on the southeast side.
The discoveries didn't stop with the drugs, either.
Officers went to a home in the 7500 block of Southeastern Ave. Sunday to investigate reports that someone was growing marijuana. Investigators saw several suspected marijuana plans in plain view outside the residence.
Investigators obtained a search warrant and went inside the house, seizing 63 marijuana plants, a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. They also took two vehicles, a trailer and a riding lawn mower. Also inside were eight dogs, three cats and what appeared to be the half-eaten body of a fourth feline. The animals were removed with help from Indianapolis Care and Control.
No one was home at the time, but investigators plan to get arrest warrants for several narcotic and criminal charges. Since they believe several children may have lived at the home, they've also contacted Child Protective Services.
