(BROAD RIPPLE) - A woman pulled from the White River in Broad Ripple on Tuesday has died, police said.
Witnesses said they saw a woman swimming in the river before going under.
Divers and boats searched the river directly behind the McDonald's on Broad Ripple Avenue.
After a brief search, the woman, 24, was found.
Officials said the woman was in the water for 30 to 40 minutes. CPR was performed at the scene, and she was rushed to Methodist Hospital where she later died.
Her identity was not released.
