(TERRE HAUTE) - Nearly 150 people were cited or arrested after a festival got rowdy in Terre Haute this weekend.
Indiana State Excise Police officers issued 178 tickets, most for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol, during the annual Scheid Diesel Fest at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
A 16-year-old boy from Canada was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol after he was caught drinking beer with his father, police said. His father was also cited.
A 17-year-old girl was cited for illegal consumption, public nudity and public intoxication after she was found dancing topless on the roof of a bus in the parking lot of the Burlington Coat Factory, police said.
Four other women were cited for public nudity after they exposed themselves while performing on poles in the back of pickup trucks in the same lot, which was visible to passing traffic on U.S. 41, police said.
An 18-year-old girl at the fairgrounds was hospitalized for severe intoxication, police said. She will be charged with illegal consumption of alcohol.
Police were called back to the Burlington Coat Factory lot early Sunday when officers reported that the crowd was hurling beer bottles at police. The lot was cleared and fights were broken up, police said.
