(TERRE HAUTE) - Deputy Jim Haley caught sight of a Jeep Cherokee that was reported stolen at the Papa Johns on Wabash Avenue.
The driver, identified as Ronald Buddy Hinkle tried to elude arrest.
After a short vehicle and foot chase, police apprehended Hinkle west of West Terre Haute.
Besides the stolen vehicle, Hinkle was in possession of a semi automatic rifle and ammunition.
He's back in court on Thursday.
