(INDIANAPOLIS) - A shallow grave discovered on the city’s east side Wednesday contained the skeletal remains of two homicide victims, police said.
A man searching for his dog in a wooded area in the 2800 block of North Gladstone Avenue found the grave just after midnight Wednesday.
When technicians began to dig up the area, they discovered two skeletons, one on top of another, in the grave, police said.
Both deaths were ruled homicides due to trauma found on the skulls, police said.
There were also several bones missing from the graves, police said. Detectives with cadaver dogs will search the area this week.
Police described the grave as secluded, shallow and not very well concealed about 75 yards beyond the wood line.
Anyone with missing loved ones, particularly from the area where the remains were found, is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
