(KOSCIUSKO COUNTY) - Authorities say a northern Indiana couple found dead in their mobile home apparently made a collective decision to end their lives.
Kosciusko County sheriff's Sgt. Chad Hill tells The Journal Gazette 46-year-old Jane Ellen Kinzer wrote an 11-page handwritten letter explaining that she and her husband had agreed to end their lives. Hill says the couple had financial and medical woes, but neither was terminally ill.
He said the financial and medical problems were possible motives in the deaths, but declined to further discuss the note's contents.
Autopsy results were inconclusive on whether Jane Ellen Kinzer's fatal gunshot wound to the head was self-inflicted, but found that 47-year-old James Willis Kinzer had shot himself once in the neck. Their bodies were found Tuesday at their home near Warsaw.
