(KOKOMO) - A 13-year-old Kokomo boy has been arrested after police said he killed two family dogs.
Police say an adult dog and a puppy were found dead in the family's home in the 1000 block of South Union Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said it's unclear how the boy killed the dogs but that both of the animal's necks were broken.
The boy was arrested on a preliminary charge of cruelty to animals. He was being held at the Robert J. Kinsey Youth Center.
If convicted as an adult, the charge carries a maximum of three years in prison.
