(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue Student Government will hold a memorial service for alumnus Neil Armstrong at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27.
Armstrong earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from Purdue University in 1955. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering from Purdue in 1970.
Joe Rust, president of Purdue Student Government, said the university's acting President Timothy Sands will be one of the speakers at the campus service. Other speakers and details are still being planned, he said.
Neil Armstrong died Saturday at the age of 82.
