(TERRE HAUTE) - A Terre Haute man pleaded guilty to possessing stolen property in connection with a bizarre case involving the man’s dead brother.
Joe Astrouski, of WTHI reports, the case began in March, when authorities found the decomposing body of Guy Sutton in the closet of an apartment on Terre Haute's West side.
Police arrested Guy Sutton's brother Byron Sutton, and believe Byron Sutton had been using Guy Sutton's finances after the man's death.
Byron Sutton initially faced several charges of forgery and fraud.
On August 14, Byron Sutton pleaded guilty to two felony charges of possessing stolen property, and other charges were dismissed.
Under a plea agreement, Sutton faces a three year sentence with two years suspended and one year to be served in prison. Sutton would also get credit for 145 days already spent in jail.
Prosecutors said Byron Sutton could still face other charges in connection with the case.
