Accused Shelbyville Coach Will Stand Trial For Child Seduction

Last updated on Friday, September 14, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A former assistant cheerleading coach facing a child seduction charge was dealt a legal blow Thursday.

Fox59 reports, former Shelbyville High School Coach Megan Crafton admitted to sexual activity with a student back in January. At the time, she was 22 and the student was younger than 18.

Her attorneys filed a motion arguing that Crafton was not in a position of authority over the student and shouldn't have been charged. But a judge denied the motion because it wasn't filed far enough in advance of her trial.

That trial is set to start Sept. 24.
