(TERRE HAUTE) - The Vigo County Prosecutor has cleared a Terre Haute Police officer in a fatal shooting.
Last July Justin Compton escaped from police custody.
When police found Compton he attacked an officer with a knife.
The officer shot and killed Compton.
Prosecutor Terry Modessitt says that their investigation shows that the officer acted appropriately and in self defense so no charges will be filed.
