(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 15-year-old boy died after an accidental shooting on Indianapolis’ southeast side Tuesday night.
Police were called to a home in the 5800 block of La Fleur Court near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Thompson Road just after 8 p.m.
Officers found the 15-year-old unresponsive. Medical crews tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.
The 911 caller indicated that his brother had shot his friend.
Police said they have detained a person of interested and possible witnesses.
Witnesses told RTV6 the victim was a freshman at Franklin Central High School.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
Police are still trying to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
